Biographical Overview


 William Hart

William Hart, a graduate of Oberlin College with a Masters from Ohio State University, has been involved with the franchise industry since 1976. Since that time, he has gained extensive sales, management, and operations experience at the franchisee, subfranchisor, and master franchisor level.

Beginning with Century 21 Real Estate, he held the positions of Franchise Marketing Consultant, Regional Director of Franchising and Regional Vice-President for the Ohio region. In 1980, Mr. Hart became the Regional President of Uniglobe Travel (Ohio), a sub-franchisor of Uniglobe Travel (International). Bringing the Uniglobe concept to the United States, he sold and opened the first U.S. franchises for the international travel agency franchisor.

In 1982, while on temporary assignment, he assumed the position of Vice-President of Franchise Sales for Century 21 Real Estate of Canada while also maintaining the advisory position of U.S. Operations Consultant for Uniglobe Travel (International). In 1984, Mr. Hart left the Canadian arm of Century 21 to become the full-time Director of Franchise Marketing for Uniglobe Travel (International), the master franchisor.

Over the next 10 years he held several positions with the Uniglobe corporate headquarters including Vice-President of Franchise Sales for North America, Vice-President of Regional Service in North America, and Senior Vice-President of Franchise Licensing Worldwide. In those capacities, Mr. Hart played an integral role in helping the company grow from a brand new franchise company in 1980 to a $3 billion a year franchisor with over 1100 franchises in 12 countries.

At the end of 1995, he left Uniglobe Travel as a full-time employee, but retained them as a client of his franchise consulting company, wlh & associates. Mr. Hart's consultation services cover a broad range of activities and franchise concepts. He works with both new start-up franchise companies, as well as more established and larger franchisors.

 

Public Speaking & Training

Recognized as one of the leading sales trainer in his profession, Mr. Hart has trained over four thousand sales associates in the US, Canada, and Europe. As a public speaker, he is at home in front of large or small audiences, at national conventions or in more intimate workshops. With a style that capitalizes on humor to drive home key issues he has amused and educated organizations in and outside of the franchise industry.

His topics cover a wide range of sales related issues that apply to sales in general and franchising in particular. His most widely requested topics are "The 'Bear' Facts of Selling" and "The Power to Overcome Any Objection".
